Zilis wants as many Ambassadors as possible to take their businesses full-time should they choose. Our Healthcare Bonus removes one of the largest obstacles to many direct sales professionals leaving traditional careers.

Zilis offers a smarter, more efficient solution to addressing social needs around the world. We leverage a new paradigm called social entrepreneurship and as a result,  Zilis is transcending every economic boundary that typically hinders organizations with a heart to serve. We have combined two powerful economic forces, social entrepreneurship and direct sales. This allows our Co-Venture charities to bypass the barriers of high overhead and massive marketing costs that are far to familiar.

Our Company is then able to pass a portion of these benefits directly to our Independent Ambassadors, giving regular people all over the world the chance to improve their own financial future by investing time into an endeavor that is truly making a difference. This creates a win-win for all involved. The best part is that all of this is done with about half the normal costs associated with fundraising. Lower fundraising costs means more resources available for those that need it most, at-risk children around the world.

Show Topic: RIR Member Paul Wilson’s grandson is on the spectrum and had sleep issues and now has been sleeping with a Sound Pillow® Sleep System for several months. The benefit of the system was quickly realized and has been a “blessing for the whole family.” This show is also raising awareness of the need for participants for a current ongoing autism research study with Sound Pillow® Sleep System.  This study could be a beneficial sound and music therapy study for the Autism community at large. Please Tune-In RIR-Radio Episode 856 – Learn more about @ Sound Pillow® Sleep System and We Rock for Autism.

Opportunity to participate in Sound Pillow® research study – Join The Study

If your child has difficulty sleeping and would like to try out a Sound Pillow Sleep System (a non-allergenic twin size pillow with an easy-to-use MP3 Player pre-loaded with 18 one hour tracks of nature sounds, slow evolutionary music and noise files) please sign up! We would love for you to help us with our research study.  Learn More

Alexa Shelmet - In Loving Memory

In loving memory of Alexa Hope Shelmet who lost her battle with Cancer on February 9, 2018. This show is dedicated to her selflessness in helping others even when staring down her own mortality. Her story of hope and love is being told through the eyes of her brother in recovery, Sam Kesaris.

In late 2015, Alexa began experiencing severe headaches, and after many medical consultations, and tests, and finally major brain surgery, her doctors delivered a frightening diagnosis: she had Glioblastoma, a serious form of brain cancer. She may have lost her battle with cancer but through it all, Alexa was an example of mad, glad, or sad you don’t pick up no matter what. Ckick > See Alexa’s Story

The Shores – Alternative Approaches to Recovery

The Shores - Alternative Approaches to Recovery

RIR-RADIO Interview: Guest Lyle Fried, topic is Alternative Approaches to Recovery. Lyle is a Board-Certified Addictions Professional, an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, an Approved Training Provider for the Florida Certification Board, and a Certified Health Coach. Lyle is also the Founder/CEO of  The Shores Treatment and Recovery – Get to Know Lyle Fried by calling 772-332-8711.

Lyle started his journey working in treatment by entering a program for his own addiction in the 90s. His first experience in treatment was as a cash-pay client in a high-end residential facility that “graduated” him as soon as his money ran out. About 3 months after being sent to a ¾-way home that was overrun with drugs, he relapsed and felt hopeless. Fortunately, a family friend found him a bed at a center for homeless men with addictions. After graduating a year-long program, Lyle felt compelled to give back and began doing service work. Quickly this turned into a passion to help others that led to study the treatment industry top to bottom. He learned state statutes and regulations, and studied counseling practices from several angles. This eventually led him back to school for a degree in psychology. It became Lyle’s passion to learn how to provide the best care possible and be able to treat people for the duration they needed as an individual, not the duration their bank account mandated.

RIR Has Canceled The January 27, 2018 Hard Rock Event

10441050_797930896917453_6991452775081140642_n

Good Day Everyone,

It’s with a heavy heart that RIR has canceled the January 27, 2018 Hard Rock event. Due to a shortage of sponsorship dollars needed to produce the event it was the only thing we could do. There were no pre-ticket sales for this event, it was going to be a donation at the door to support MusiCares.

This would have been our 10 year anniversary party and 30th music production, and we really were looking forward to doing it. Being the optimist’s we are, we did everything we could right up to Saturday January 20, 2018 to pull it off, and it just didn’t happen.

To the sponsors who sponsored a combined $7655.30, we gratefully thank you for your support and as some of you have already seen we have started the refund process for your sponsorships. Our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please feel free to contact us at 786-488-6984 or 954-826-5968 if you have any questions in regards to this matter.

Nashville Event Cost;

Hard Rock Rental – $8000.00

Musical Performers – $2500.00

Stage Backline – $1500.00

Travel and Lodging – $950.00

Production Expenses – $560.00

Total Expenses – $13,510.00

Total Sponsorship Collected – $7655.30

Total Sponsorship Shortage – $5854.70

Above Costs do not represent the time spent in creating and marketing towards this event thus far, and the marketing of the payed sponsors that has already been completed to this point. Also, it does not include the countless hours spent contacting over 500 potential sponsors in the private treatment sector since May 2017.

Again please feel free to contact Rockers In Recovery Radio and Productions at: 786-488-6984 or 954-826-5968 if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Lori Sullivan – CFO, Rockers In Recovery Radio and Productions

Hello I’m John Hollis Co-Founder of Rockers In Recovery, a media and productions company that specialize in bringing addiction education together with music events. The events are to help those affected by addiction may it be the addict or their loved ones.

We make these events totally free to anyone who would like to attend. In order to do this we rely on sponsorship dollars. We work very hard to make this a win win for everyone.

How? By becoming a sponsor we promote your organization/company through our many media platforms based on the sponsorship level you decide on. The earlier a sponsor comes aboard the longer you are promoted. You are also part of a great community event that promotes and shows recovery is possible (hope) as well as educating and helping those in need (help).

Of course in turn your sponsorship dollars are a 100% advertising write off and mostly  help pay for the production costs of the event. A win win!!

So act now and get your organization/company’s logo on them as one of our event sponsors,  as well as getting the media exposure we provide for several months.

Again, we can only do this event through the participation of organizations/business like yours.

Let’s “Unite to Fight” against the ignorance and stigma associated with addiction! I thank you for you time and consideration.

Music Enhances My Recovery

 Paul Wilson / Sobriety Unplugged

Singer-Songwriter Paul Wilson and  his organization Sobriety Unplugged is a huge part of Rockers In Recovery. Through Paul’s support since 2012 we have been able to do festivals and music production all over the United States. Paul is a beautiful person who is truly loyal to his friends, and his passion for songwriting comes from his life experiences and love of his long term recovery.  We love Paul here at RIR and look forward to many more years together educating people with addiction, through song.

About Paul:  “I started playing guitar in 65 after hearing the Bob Dylan song Desolation Row. I was mesmerized by him, and the song hit home with me. By 17 I had played in a couple of coffee houses and worked in a head shop, Golicombies Pottery. It was the 60s, the birth of sex drugs and rock and roll. I survived.

I got married young had kids and worked hard and was raising a family so music took a back seat. The booze and drugs were always there and got worse. I got divorced and became homeless at 38 and the next thing I knew I was 51 and dying. God’s Grace saved me and I found the rooms of recovery.

New live, new job, new guitar. I started writing and relearning with a fever pitch passion, but I couldn’t play out sober… unbelievable stage fright. With help of other musicians and my sponsor I worked through it.

I got involved with Rockers In Recovery® and it gave me a way to give back and show other addicts and alcoholics you can have fun in Recovery. I put together a family band with my son and grandson, three generations playing music how cool is that.

With the help of John Hollis I started Sobriety Unplugged to do smaller Unplugged venues . The music enhances my recovery and my recovery enhances my music.” Paul Stephen Wilson

Stacey Hampton – Musician In Recovery

Recovery Muzic - Stacey Hampton

We at RIR have been proud to be a part of Stacey Hampton’s Music since 2015 when she performed at the 2015 Love of Recovery Music Festival. It’s been a honor to have her with us educating about addiction at several of our meet & greets and festivals. She has gone on to share a gift of  sobriety through her lyrics and music.  Stacey is all about experience, strength, and hope through music. We love her very much and please take the time to know her better.

Stacey Hampton is a female solo artist basing most of her music in folk rock with a touch of country, a hint of bluegrass and a sprinkle of funk. She picked up the guitar her sophomore year of college and also began writing a lot of poetry at the time. In the throws of her addiction, she found herself wanting to combine the two. Stacey is a person in long term recovery, she has been playing and writing music for about 20 years now and simply wants to share it with those that are struggling.

Jam Alker – Sobriety Music

Jam Alker – Sobriety Music

Jam was a guest rocker at the Aug. 2016 Maine RIR Meet and Greet and on November 11, 2016 Jam Alker was a guest on Rockers In Recovery® -Radio, over the last decade we’ve worked with and interviewed many singer/songwriters. Jam’s ability to create a message of hope through his recovery based music is inspiring. Through the passion for his personal recovery, Jam comes from a place of love, and you truly hear it in his writings and music. We are proud to have Jam a part of Rockers In Recovery®, shining an ever loving light of hope to a world filled with stigma of addiction. This man is a true recovery soldier, passing on the blessings of his gift of sobriety every day to others. John Hollis, Co-Founder at Rockers In Recovery® – Media.
Jam-Alker-Sophrosyne-2017

Bio-Jam Alker.Com –  Who is Jam Alker?  Soon after he found heroin, Jam Alker put down his guitar and did not pick it up again for ten-plus years. What followed would be what he calls “the most toxic relationship I’ve ever been in” — a decade of extreme highs and lows that brought him, literally, to his knees, begging for a long-needed reawakening. “What I found out was that drugs were not my problem; drugs were my solution to my problem.”

“I had a ton of struggles, but then also a ton of victories as a result of reaching a point in my life where the pain was so great, something had to change.”

For Jam, this problem manifested itself, not just in addiction, but egotism, materialism, and compulsiveness. He found his way back to his guitar and began to spin his experiences into stories told through music. These stories explore life’s dark, gritty underbelly and the despair that can compel bad decisions, without judgment or condemnation, but often with hope.

And he’s found that it’s not just addicts and their families who’ve found kinship through his music; his message of redemption hits home for just about anyone who’s discontent. “My story is not unique,” Jam often says. “Everyone has unhealthy behaviors they go to in times of desperation.”

It was music that helped him change his life — and it’s music that continues to keep him on his path. “Music is my therapy. Putting my experiences, both deadly and life saving, into song have helped me to heal. I owe a great deal of my new life to my music,” he says.

He chronicles this story of addiction and recovery with his first full-length solo album, Sophrosyne.

Dick Conaboy – Clearbrook Treatment Centers

Dick Conaboy - Clearbrook Treatment Centers

RIR-Radio Guest Tonight: Dick Conaboy, Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Clearbrook Treatment Centers. We will be talking about the treatment process and acceptance. Get to know Dick better by calling 888-414-4209 – Episode 851

His current responsibilities  include evaluating all incoming clients from the surrounding areas of Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and assigning them to the appropriate counselor, following their care and planning after-care, as well as implementing the facility’s daily schedule.

As a patient advocate, Conaboy takes time to talk to each patient every day, helping them solve life problems, legal problems, and the early difficulties that many patients face transitioning to a sober lifestyle. Conaboy has been involved in professional counseling since 1975, beginning at the State Correctional Institution at Rockview, conducting psychiatric and educational assessments of inmates.

Every patient at Clearbrook has immediate and direct access to Dick. As Vice President of Clinical Affairs, his workload can be immense, but he prides himself on always making the time for a patient in need.  At any given time during the day you can find Dick in his office talking one-on-one to our patients, guiding them through the process of treatment and the individual issues each patient may present. He’s also a tremendous asset to our alumni. A graduate of Marywood University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, he has garnered more than 300 continuing education credits pertaining to drug and alcohol abuse, and recovery. Dick’s greatest asset is his own personal story of recovery and the almost magical way he passes that on to people that have come through Clearbrook. LEARN MORE
